About

Welcome!

I’m Jaime Ridgley, creator of the Bygone Maryland blog.

Whether it’s the slowly fading words on the side of an old brick building, forgotten front page news or a scandalous true crime case from yesteryear, I love finding clues from the past that give us a glimpse into the places and lives of Marylanders who came before us.

I grew up in Frederick County before moving to College Park to attend the University of Maryland, where I studied journalism and history. Today, I live in Carroll County with my husband and two children.
